About me
After thirty years clinical experience in England and abroad I now describe myself as a mature therapist who likes to bring huge amounts of fun to my sessions!
As a professional speech and language therapist I have worked in independent practice in four countries (Switzerland, Hong Kong, New Zealand and UK) with the majority of my career in Hong Kong. I have a solid work ethic and skill foundation established in early NHS practice.
Whilst in Hong Kong, I owned a multi-disciplinary private practice that provided occupational therapy and speech and language therapy services. I managed clinic-based work and outreach services to international schools and kindergartens (preschools). I have significant experience of working with multi-lingual children and their families.
I returned to the UK in 2020.

Working with early-years children to teens and supporting them, their families and their schools really makes my day! I thrive on my work. I connect with children and teens and I do my absolute utmost to make their lives more effective and enjoyable. I work hard to create opportunities to share ideas and strategies through direct contact with parents, caregivers and teachers or via workshops and training sessions.

My decades of experience span a range of communication issues incorporating expressive skills / understanding oral language, processing / executive memory, articulation / phonology and social-emotional development.

Communication issues related to childhood and developmental disorders and neuro-developmental disorders including ADHD and Autism are my specialist areas because these groups of children, amongst the obvious professional benefits always seem to like me as I really like them! I am SIPT certified for assessing Sensory Integration Processing Disorder and have found this training invaluable in my work.

I am certified by the Health and Care Professions Council (UK). I am a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (UK), the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice (UK) and the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) UK.

Motorbikes are a passion and I ride for fun, for local and international explorations.
And I am the only speech and language therapist that I know of to have successfully corrected a (lateral) lisp in an African Grey Parrot!
